In the Anglican Church of Canada Cycle of Prayer for the week of 21 February 2021, we pray for The Most Rev. David Edwards, Archbishop, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of Fredericton.
"The Anglican Church has had a presence in New Brunswick since 1768 when the Rev. John Eagleson was sent by the British Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts to minister to the people living in the Tantramar area of New Brunswick/Nova Scotia." [1] The diocese, founded in 1845, includes more than 130 parishes throughout the civil province of New Brunswick.
The diocese is situated in the traditional unceded territory of the Passamaquoddy, Abenaki, Mi'kmaq, and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) First Nations, and the Wabanaki Confederacy.
