In the week of 8 November 2020, we pray for the Principal, faculty, students, and staff of the Vancouver School of Theology.
Here is a brief history of the school. VST, originally the Anglican College of Theology, has been based on the UBC campus in West Vancouver since 1927, and has since amalgamated with United and Presbyterian colleges. As the only Anglican theological college west of the Rockies, it serves as the main training college for ordinands of the Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and Yukon.
Through distance and on-site programs at certificate, diploma, undergraduate and graduate levels, VST aims to "educate and form thoughtful, engaged and generous Christian leaders together with friends of other faith and cultural traditions." VST has a strong tradition of continuing education programs, and a number of their recent lectures are available online via YouTube.
VST is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xwməθkwəyəm (Musqueam) People.
