The parish of Holy Trinity, in North Saanich, seeks a part-time, permanent office administrator to serve the needs of an active worship community and its many outreach activities.
BACKGROUND
Holy Trinity is an equitable employer that operates with humility and gratitude to the First Peoples of Turtle Island on whose traditional lands we work and play. We are a regional expression of the Anglican Church of Canada, part of the Diocese of British Columbia. We are a progressive church where seekers are welcome to receive communion, baptism, marriage and ordination on an equal basis. The parish of Holy Trinity is one of eleven Anglican parishes in the Saanich Peninsula & Gulf Islands area and one of forty-six diocesan parishes extending across Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands of the Salish Sea and Kingcome Inlet.

Holy Trinity is a community of approximately 250 active parishioners striving to be an open and affirming community of Christians that welcomes anyone seeking companionship, spiritual nourishment and opportunity for worship. The parish worships on the traditional lands of the Saanich First Nations and their ministry of "companion journeying" is integral to the identity of the parish. The parish office has an intimate, casual and friendly atmosphere.
YOUR MINISTRY WITH US
The office administrator will maintain regular weekly office hours and be directly supervised by the parish priest. The administrator will fill a broad and varied spectrum of tasks, including (but not limited to): answering and returning telephone calls, mail, and emails; greeting and assisting parishioners and visitors; insuring an adequate supply of office supplies and reordering as necessary; arranging for maintenance and service calls on office computers and printers as necessary; coordinating with the church treasurer concerning incoming bills, revenue, and inquiries; preparing and printing documents such as the service outlines, bulletins, readings, and annual reports; and coordinating with the sexton concerning requests for burial plots or other inquiries.

Candidates must be able to provide a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector search and abide by the diocesan policies.
The candidate's ideal availability would be mornings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (to a maximum of 12 hours weekly); however, there is flexibility around hours of work.
Hourly wage: $19.00-$22.00 depending on skills and experience.
