St Dunstan's In-Person Service Attendance – Information
(registration not currently required)
Public health and diocesan regulations have been adjusted to allow services in person again this summer, starting Sunday 20 June. While the summer weather permits, we will gather outdoors for Sunday morning worship, on the lawn between the church and the rectory.
Start time: Sundays at 9.30 am. The service is a simple Service of the Word with sermon, lasting about 45 minutes. Communion in one kind will be offered on Sundays in September.
Contact tracing: We are required to collect contact details of every person attending on arrival, for public health contact tracing purposes. We will keep this information for 30 days and then destroy it.
Distancing: It is essential to stay at least 2 meters apart in all directions from anyone not in your bubble/household all the time, including outdoors. 2 meters is 6’8”, more than two yardsticks. This is the single most important public health measure, whether or not you are vaccinated.
Masks: are strongly encouraged for all who are able to wear them, regardless of vaccination status, but not legally required for outdoor gatherings where at least 2m distancing can be maintained at all times. Remember to cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, even when masked. We now know that virus-bearing particles are aerosolized and airborne.
Washroom access: the single washroom off the vestry on the main floor will be open, access via the rear fire door into the nave. Each user must sanitize the washroom following the instructions posted.
Chairs: at the end of the service, please move your chair to the fire doors if you are able.
Weather: The service will be outdoors by default, with limited shelter, so dress with the weather in mind. The service may be moved indoors last minute, if weather demands it. Some people may be less comfortable attending a service indoors; there is no obligation.
Worship videos: will continue, either pre-recorded or livestreamed (coming soon!) for those at home.
As of 4 July, congregational singing "with caution" and social gathering with distancing are permitted. Shared refreshments are still not allowed.
These measures are required by the diocesan and provincial public health guidelines. The diocesan reopening plan is online in full here.
